President Trump is hosting the official White House Chanukkah party on Thursday, a tradition started by President George W. Bush and continued by President Barack Obama. The first president to actually light a menorah in the White House was Bill Clinton. Though he did not host an official party, Clinton did invite a dozen schoolchildren to the White House in 1993 for a small candle lighting ceremony.
